Equipment

  • kitchen scale optional

Ingredients

  • 75 grams of flour ½ cup
  • 50 grams of sugar ¼ cup
  • 6 grams of baking powder 1 ½ tsp
  • 2 grams of salt ¼ tsp
  • 70 grams of milk of your choice 5 ½ tbsp
  • 14 grams of oil 1 tbsp
  • 7 grams of vanilla extract 1 ½ tsp
  • 50 grams of creamy peanut butter 3 tbsp
  • 80 grams of starter 5 tbsp

Instructions

  • Zero out a scale and place a bowl on top (if you’re weighing the ingredients). Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in the bowl. Whisk so there are no clumps.
  • Next, add in the milk, oil, peanut butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk well.
  • Then add in the sourdough starter. Whisk this in quickly. The mixture will become airy and start to rise.
  • Divide the batter evenly between two mugs and place in the microwave together. Cook for 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • Then let the mug cake rest for 1 minute before eating. Enjoy warm, and serve with ice cream on top if you’re feeling fancy!
