Fresh Iced Mint Tea is a drink to keep in the fridge all summer. It's simple to make and refreshing to sip!
Prep Time 5 minutes
steep time 10 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 10 cups
Course: Drinks

Ingredients

  • 10 cups of water
  • 1 oz of fresh mint approximately 1 packed cup
  • ¼ cup of honey or sugar to taste, you may want your tea to be sweeter

Equipment

  • Cheesecloth
  • Strainer

Method

  1. Bring 10 cups of water to a boil. You can boil it in a stock pot or plan to use a heat proof bowl.
  2. Once at a boil, turn off the heat and add 1 oz or approximately 1 packed cup of rinsed mint tea leaves.
  3. Let steep for 10 minutes. Once steeped, remove all the mint leaves using tongs or a strainer.
  4. Strain your tea through a fine mesh strainer and/or a cheesecloth to make sure there is no additional dirt or small bugs in your final drink.
  5. Pour ½ cup honey to the still warm tea, stirring to incorporate. You can use the same amount of sugar as an alternative. This is a lightly sweetened tea so you can increase or decrease sweetener to your preference.
  6. Chill until ready to serve. Add a sliced lemon or lime for garnish and added flavor.
