snickerdoodle Latte in a mug

Snickerdoodle Latte

A Snickerdoodle latte takes an ordinary cup of coffee and turns it into something special. This recipe is for one serving, but easily multiplies. The spices in this latte are warming and perfect for fall and winter!

What is a latte?

A latte is an espresso made with steamed milk. There is more steamed milk in a latte than in a cappuccino. This recipe doesn’t call for espresso, but you can use an espresso for it. In its place, this recipe calls for a strong brewed cup of coffee.

What are snickerdoodles made out of?

Snickerdoodle cookies are known as buttery cookies that are rolled in cinnamon sugar and then baked. This Snickerdoodle latte doesn’t have a butter taste to it, but the cinnamon sugar flavors in it will remind you of a Snickerdoodle cookie!

What special equipment do I need to make a Snickerdoodle latte?

None! Aside from your coffee-making vessel of choice, you just need a microwave-safe cup with a lid. A mason jar works great. If you use mason jars a lot, we recommend these reusable lids for the mason jars to make storage easier! If you make a larger batch, you can use an immersion blender or handheld milk frother.

This picture shows enough ingredients to make two cups of Snickerdoodle lattes

You need about ½ cup of hot strong coffee plus

¾ cup of whole milk (if you use a milk substitute or lower-fat milk, your latte will be thinner, which is fine, but just be aware!)

1 tbsp brown sugar

¼ tsp of cinnamon

A pinch of nutmeg (optional)

1 teaspoon of cinnamon sugar*

homemade cinnamon sugar

*You can buy premade cinnamon sugar, but you can also just mix your own together. The ratio is 1 cup of sugar to 1 tbsp of cinnamon. If you want to make a smaller batch, add 1 tsp of cinnamon to ⅓ cup of sugar.
